Most of my life, I struggled with self-confidence and insecurity. It’s been in recent years that self-doubt started to chip away as I found my identity in Christ. As my oldest daughter approaches pre-teen, I’ve wondered how to teach her something I’m still developing. I found this gem and am excited that it comes from a godly perspective.

Author Maria speaks about her insecurity battles and shares the wisdom she’s picked up in her journey. A must for every mom ;).

  1. I know all of us have our issues. But I can tell you that you’re a very intelligent and hard working lady! You are indeed a mother and everything you know, including your insecurities, you should tell your daughters about. You never know that they aren’t going through the same thing and maybe see something you don’t.

  6. This looks like a lovely and powerful book! My eldest daughter, Rhu, just turned thirteen and I am already feeling the Godly burden of keeping her eyes on her eternal identity rather than her physical body. What a delicate balance of taking care of your temple without allowing it to eclipse who you are inside. I’m still learning this one too! I gave her a mom/daughter journal for her birthday where she writes something in it, then leaves it for me on my bed, and then I write something in it and then leave it on her bed. THere’s no set schedule or expectations so it remains fun, but we’ve learned a lot about each other and that communication is invaluable to me… What a gift she is!

  7. What an excellent idea, I must do this! My daughter is turning 10, and I want there to be open communication as she grows. Lucky for me, she loves to write as much as I do :). This will be fun! Thank you for sharing this.

  11. Oh, hooray!!! I’m so glad to hear that! How special to have the privilege of sharing a beloved hobby/talent with your child. Rhu is also a writer and that is her dream. I could not be more blessed by that, and I so enjoy how unique she and my other kids are. 🤗🥰💙

  17. I agree. My mom had a rough life and she had a difficult time with building our self esteem when she has her own. I will say she has very determine and independent person despite her insecurities. So I have a lot to be grateful for that.
