This month is Mental Health Awareness Month. As someone who’s suffered from Major Depression in the past and deals with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD or seasonal depression), I want to help bring awareness. So I’m excited to announce authors Jaime Jo Wright, Jennifer Q. One thing that helps me during a tough season is worship music. It soothes me, and it elevates my spirit, just like when King Saul’s troubled spirit fled with David’s harp. I know it’s easier to praise God when things are going well, but during dark days? I smile when well-meaning people suggest exercise to push the gloom out when I lack the motivation to get out of bed. And you may smile when I mention worship. But this helps me. I may not sing along all the time, but pushing play can fill the environment with God’s peace. Whether I stay lying in bed or am driving, one album I listen to is Cece Winans’ cd, Believe For It.
